Sharing recipes between real foodies in both your physical community and cyber community! is a great way to bump up your real food options.
Start with asking friends and family to share their recipes. Borrow recipe books from the library too.
Join a good Facebook group with like-minded people. One of my favorites is Real Food In New Zealand (https://www.facebook.com/groups/491151944355688/) run by Maryana Lishman, Earth Mama Real Food Holistic Health Coach.
This was a recipe from one of the groups members (thanks Frank!) and a great sweet treat for Easter perhaps.
- 1 cup coconut oil
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup walnuts (or seeds for tree-nut free)
- 1 ripe avocado
- Half cup of desiccated coconut
- 1t cinnamon
- 2t cacao
Whizz in a blender until smooth and pour into a dish and chill until firm, then slice into cubes. These are great kept in the freezer too and taste really nice directly from.
